About Driver Brian Weber

Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Brian was involved in racing at an early age.  When he was 13 years old he helped long-time family friend Jeff Ing win his first race at Riverhead, NY.  By the time he was 15, he built his first Street Stock race car!  From ages 16-19 Brian competed in over 100 races at the Riverhead and Islip speedways.  He attended Duke Southard’s School of Oval Track Racing in Florida, which helped put him well on his way to being on the BUSCH North circuit.

During the late 1980s, Brian ran in the BUSCH Grand National North Series and consistently finished in the top 20.  In 1990, he moved to the North Carolina area, started his own construction company, ran several BGN events and worked with the Excel MotorSports’ Mark Krogh Team.

Over the past few years, Brian 36 has taken a new approach to his racing career.  Recently married, he purchased a couple of stock cars and has re-emerged on the NASCAR BGN scene as owner and driver.  Brian’s resurgence was sparked by a brief appearance in the 2001 BGN race in Watkin’s Glen, NY.

In early 2002, Brian organized a BUSCH Team consisting mostly of volunteers and successfully competed in 13 of the 17 races events in 2002.  The Team entered 23 events and had notable finishes of 16th at Talladega and 23rd at Daytona.   Brian finished the season 43rd in owner’s points and 50th in driver’s points with minimal sponsorship.  Prior to BUSCH, Brian competed in the NASCAR BUSCH North Series, Modified, late model stock cars, as well as other short track racing.
